Use of AI as a tool in Genealogy

About this event

Larry Edralin

Genealogists are challenged constantly with how to get past brick walls they encounter while researching their family roots.  The resources available are many, but wouldn’t it be nice to have a sounding board to query and help find details hidden in the vast amount of data that exists out there in myriads of databases and public records.  Enter AI.  AI is a new tool being used to help researchers find that last piece of data that connects the string that needs to be connected to their family tree.  Where to start?

The March speaker for the SaddleBrooke Genealogist Club is Laurence Edralin.  Most genealogists are not familiar with AI so Larry will provide a basic understanding of the ChatBots currently available, their strengths, and an introduction on how to begin use of them for Genealogical research.  It’s a primer to introduce the tools to the researcher.  Then they can experiment and practice their use and later dive into specific genealogical areas.

Laurence Edralin is retired and living in SaddleBrooke.
